Crediton Heart Project is “an independent charity run entirely by local volunteers, working to keep creativity, connection and community at the heart of our area.” We do this, among other things “By shining a spotlight on all the brilliant things happening locally via this website and our social media channels.”
The project was to replace the old website with a refreshed site on the same domain. The remit was a clean modern site, which contained less information that was easier to keep up-to-date. To maintain the old site temporarily as an archive as part of the new site, we scraped the old site as flat html files and uploaded these to a sub-folder.
The client analysed the previous content for what to keep, discard and update, and where the gaps were. Much of the content was re-used, and the client provided any further required copy. The content now focuses on:What’s On, an ElfSight embed plus form to submit new events; local Venues for hire, implemented as custom post types in WordPress; and the Kick Start Art project.
We gave Clare a tricky task, to transform our cumbersome website into something that was easier for us to manage and for users to navigate. As a small charity we have limited funds and Clare delivered this project efficiently and within our tight budget. She was easy to work with, responsive to our needs and providing clear guidance through the process. We are delighted with the results.
